Finally, the world’s most popular messaging app has introduced updates for Windows 10 Mobile/Windows Phone. It is a rare thing to happen. The updates took a long time to beta test and were released only this week.
The new 2.12.170 version includes the majority of options that had been tested.
Now WhatsApp users can enjoy improved and new emoji (now you can play naughty and show the middle finger to your recipient); also, there are new sound notifications for actions that you make within the app.
As for technical improvements – the search through message history and contact list is now much better than before.
The new WhatsApp version for Windows can be downloaded from the Windows Store.
Let us recall that according to the latest data, the number of monthly active users (MAU) of WhatsApp has exceeded 900 mn.
WhatsApp’s official competitors are Kik Messenger, WeChat and LINE. They are located right below WhatsApp in the leadership rating based on the number of MAU.
