New version of the Russian Telegram app for iOS and Android
Russian Telegram messenger app has released new updates for its versions on Android and iOS. Two new features have been added: viewing and listening to media files without leaving the app and a search in chats.
SoundCloud, Vimeo, and Youtube are the services whose media files you can now play without leaving the chat. To do that, the users of the Russian Telegram app must tap the external link of the media file. The developers have also taken care of placing media files in order within a chat.
Android users of Telegram have also received a new menu for sharing files, media and contacts. Now it is very similar to the menu, which iOS users have been benefiting from for a long time already. A “carbon-copy” here too.
Search in chats of the Russian Telegram
In earlier versions of the app the search by key words in the chat history was made in a special field throughout the app. It means that after starting a key word search, users saw not only parts of chat lines but also applications, files, links, etc. This time the developers have limited it only to a search through chats themselves. The search feature on Android and iOS is implemented in two different ways.
In the iOS version of the app, users first have to select a chat and tap Search in the upper left-hand corner. Android users of Telegram need to use the Action Menu.
The search will highlight key words in chats, thus letting a user find the message in the chat history that he/she needs.
It should be noticed that WeChat was first to implement this kind of search. Finally, the trend to copy the achievements of Asian ‘colleagues’ has reached the Russian Telegram app too.
