Tinder verified profiles
The team of the IAC-owned dating platform, Tinder, has started developing verified profiles for global celebrities and other famous folks. Now there will be a little blue checkmark next to the names of verified users, the same way it’s done on Twitter.
Tinder’s developer team had something to say on this on their official blog, namely that as of the 7th of July users will be able to see the verification icon by some selected profiles. From this point on, when you see notable public figures in your recommendations, you will know that it is the real deal.

In truth, the innovation is as serious as it gets. Considering the fact that famous celebrities, such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Hillary Duff and Britney Spears, are rumored to have taken a liking to the dating service, there are loads of people waiting for a chance to meet ‘em in person or, perhaps, even, go out on a date of a lifetime, if they’re lucky.
Speaking at the TechCrunch Disrupt event held in NYC this May, Tinder’s co-founder and President Sean Rad refused to comment on whether or not the aforementioned personalities really are looking for a date via the app. However, the most recent innovation clearly demonstrates that there are at least several VIPs swiping away on Tinder.
Furthermore, the application is rather popular in North America, seeing around 26 million daily matches.
