The reputable Electronic Frontier Foundation gave Wickr one of the highest ratings in history for its security and, according to Wickr’s chief, the world’s best cryptographers worked on the app. They made sure no personal user data would ever be used by Wickr.
The company that created the messenger was founded in sunny San Francisco in 2012. The company’s slogan reads “Leave No Trace” while the app’s market positioning leads us to believe that even a child could handle it. In 2014 its head, Nico Sell, who is a respected IT security expert in the US, claimed that the company’s vision is based on the idea that personal data security is and will be the key aspect of observing human rights.
