During the 2013 Google Home Conference in May, one more grand service was presented. It was by no means something radically new. However, Hangouts had ambitious goals and this IM service, within Google’s social network, grew into a separate application meant to replace Google Talk and chats in Google+.
This is a free app, which is the reason why it has a lot of users, also considering the status of the company that developed it. This raises questions regarding the exact number of users of this messaging app.
Hangouts group chats allow communicating with up to 10 chat partners simultaneously, even if you make a video conference. This makes Google much more favorable compared to Skype. Chats in the former also have a unique option to show you what particular part of the chat your conversation partner is currently reading. It is very useful when it comes to avoiding misunderstandings.
