Everybody knows what a selfie is. Some people get an uncontrollable desire to snap another photo of themselves when they hear the word “selfie”, while others are just good-old-fashioned annoyed. Be that as it may, but selfies are still a huge almost integral part of the modern world. Oodles of apps, filters have been created to compliment our self-portraits, not to mention the monopod that is also known as the selfie stick. And now Japan has gone and surprised us with yet another innovation – the “Vendorphoto”.
This machine was designed and developed by Kirin, a company that specializes on various types of beverages. Thanks to the selfie vending machine, anyone can take a photo and share it via the popular communication platform Line. If this is your go-to machine, then, in addition to snapping pictures of your mug, you can also process them using a selection of effects, or change the entire background. The invention is offered in several languages, meaning that if you’re a tourist in Japan you should definitely find one and just go nuts.
These vending machines are to be installed this month. No announcement has been made regarding the possibility of other messaging apps getting linked to the machine, so for now it is a Line-exclusive deal.
