Some great news for iOS users! A free version of the Skype for Business has been available as of October 14.
Skype for Business has long become a favourite for its users when making online-conferences. Compared to the usual Skype app, Skype for Business offers many more functionalities. One of its major advantages is online meetings, message exchange, a/v calls with up to 250 people. Users of Skype for Business may also find any employee in their company and schedule meetings with them in Outlook.
The messaging app ensures a high security level of an enterprise grade and allows managing employee accounts.
Previously, the app’s cost began at $2.00 per user for one calendar month. However, the appearance of the new free iOS version made things change. The new free Skype for Business is already available on the App Store.
For iPhone fans who are using the Lync 2013 version, the current app will be automatically updated to Skype for Business. iPad users with Lync 2013 will have to independently download the new universal app from the App Store.
The new application contains several improvements. First of all, it provides fast access to the necessary online meetings. To join in, you will just have to give it one touch.
Besides, the quality of video during a meeting in a full-scale mode has been improved; the same goes for the situation when you have to view videos of several recipients simultaneously. Another positive update is an extra authentication check. Changes have also been made to security parameters for IT admins.
Let us recall that in August this year, Microsoft launched a preview of Skype for Business for iOS and Android devices. However, if iPhone and iPad users can benefit from the app’s work already now, Android users will have to wait until the end of the year.
