Russia has taken a step into the 21st century by introducing the practice of sending out service messages via Viber. SMS Traffic has made an announcement saying that a new communication channel’s been added to the messaging app, specifically designed to serve as a tool for contacting users.
Now, thanks to bulk mailings, all messages sent through Viber will be of service nature — users will be able to get various interesting information.
Service messages include, but are not limited to payment reminders, different notifications regarding online shopping, product deliveries and cab-hailing service.
The service was initially created for banks, financial institutions, retail, restaurant and hotel businesses, transport enterprises and other organizations to name a few. However, over the past couple of years, businesses have felt the need to distribute non-commercial notifications via messaging apps. Moreover, given the situation with Viber’s spamming issue, official mailing lists will come in very handy.
The important thing is to keep in mind that user trust comes first.
