Microsoft is so concerned with the quality of Skype that it is carefully studying all user feedback.
Having listened to user requests, engineers rolled out Skype 6.4 for Android Wear the other day.
The headline innovation of the app’s new modification is the possibility to make calls right from your Android Wear smart watch. In truth, only the proud owners of the following smart watches will be able to enjoy the perks of the update: LG Watch Urbane, Huawei Watch, Moto 360 and ASUS ZenWatch.
However, keep in mind that developers never did specify what technical difficulties limit the use of the update on other Android devices. So, it is well possible that Skype 6.4 will run on other Android Wear watches.
Always Connected
Now, you can receive new incoming message notifications directly on your Android Wear watch. In addition, users will be able to read incoming messages right on their wrists.
What’s also exciting is that the installed software gives you the “go-ahead” to reply to chat posts. There are a few ways of doing this:
- By creating a hand drawing over the screen or by adding an emoji,
- By selecting a pre-composed message, or
- By converting speech to text.
Make Audio and Video Calls
The update enables users to accept, decline and end calls right from the Android Wear. While making a call, users will be able to switch to another caller, mute or put the current caller on hold.
If you still haven’t updated Skype, make sure to get its latest version on Google Play.
