Messaging app Telegram rolled out an update, introducing several new features and giving its Android app a new and improved look.
The Android version of the app got a substantial facelift. The improvements include a new interface for creating groups, for notification settings, an improved camera and photo viewer, better video compression and more.
The app now also has an Instant View feature that lets users load stories in no time. “To try it out, use Telegram version 3.14 to share a link to a Medium post or a TechCrunch article. This will get you an Instant View button that immediately shows a native page, saving you time and data,” Telegram writes on its official blog.
Searching within a chat has also become much easier. In order to find a message, you only need to tap Search inside a chat and jump to any date you like with the Calendar tool.
Finally, together with update, Telegram launched Telegraph, “a publishing tool that lets you create rich posts with markdown, photos, and all sorts of embedded stuff. Telegraph posts get beautiful Instant View pages on Telegram”. Telegraph is extremely easy to use and requires no registration. So in order to publish a story, you need to go to telegra.ph, write a title and your name and add text. You can also add photos and videos from YouTube and Vimeo. Once done you can publish your story and share it on Telegram and on social networks. At the moment, commenting is unavailable for the Telegraph posts.
