Facebook has some Treats for Halloween

By John Thomas

The largest social network Facebook is introducing masks in Facebook Live and special reactions for the coming Halloween. “Over the years, we’ve seen that people come to Facebook to share fun moments, show off costumes, and connect with friends and family on Halloween. This year, we’re introducing some fun new ways to help you get into the Halloween spirit,” the company wrote on its blog.

You can now be creative in your live videos by adding Halloween-themed masks, featuring a skull, an evil queen, a pumpkin and a witch. In order to ask a mask, a user will have to start a live video, then tap on the magic wand in the upper left corner and select one from the pop-up menu. You can change masks while broadcasting.

Special Halloween Reactions will actually appear in place of the ones we have all gotten used to. So, when you want to choose a reaction, you can choose from the skeletal thumbs up (Like), the candy heart (Love), the laughing witch (Haha), the ghost (Wow), Frankenstein (Sad), or the scowling pumpkin (Angry).

Both masks and reactions are rolling out in select countries on iOS with Android and more countries to come.
