WhatsApp, Facebook-owned messenger has launched desktop apps for Mac and Windows. “Just like WhatsApp Web, our desktop app is simply an extension of your phone: the app mirrors conversations and messages from your mobile device,” the company wrote on its blog. All messages from your phone are now synced with the app on your computer or laptop.
The new desktop app is available for Windows 8+ and Mac OS 10.9+. Because the app runs natively on your desktop, users will now have support for native desktop notifications, better keyboard shortcuts, and more.
You can download the app on WhatsApp’s website from your browser. To start using it you will need to open the app and scan the QR code from the WhatsApp on your phone.
