Instagram is working on developing business profiles similar to Facebook Brand Pages. It appears that the service has been testing new profile pages for businesses featuring large “contact” buttons. The profiles with the white “Contact” button that appears at the top of the screen next to the “Follow” button were recently spotted in the wild by the blog Later.com.
When you press the Contact button, the pop-up menu that appears will provide you directions to the business and an email address. The users can also click on the location tag and launch a map interface.
The business pages are broken into categories with the type of business listed under their name.
Just as with other new features, the business profiles have not been launched broadly yet. The new feature is currently being tested among a small group of users and is expected to come to Instagram in a few months, according to the company.
