ChatGrape SEASON

A HOT DEBATE IS ABREWING IN WESTERN PRESS REGARDING AN AMBITIOUS AUSTRIAN STARTUP, WHICH IS SOMETHING MORE THAN JUST A MESSENGER.

ChatGrape is an entire ecosystem for communication. To go into detail, ChatGrape is a teamwork messenger or, in other words, a group chat, positioning itself as a “smarter” product than Slack and HipChat, which are from the same niche. It is difficult to judge the real competitive advantages in view of constant innovations and function testing. However, we can say now that the newcomer chose rather risky and high sounding positioning. There are definitely reasons behind this fact: a few days back the vinaceous messenger raised almost $2 million in the latest round of investment talks. Remarkably, a significant part of the sum was given by Josh Miller – one of the venture partners and concurrently the head of Facebook product development. Josh noted that he shares ChatGrape’s vision. Project co-founder Leo Fasbender said he was planning on allocating the raised funds in such a way that will allow him to focus on improving the mobile client and, at the same time, focus on closer cooperation with the Austrian Institute, which is engaged in AI research, giving actual physical proof that the product primarily intends on standing out with “smart” innovations.

Are we witnessing a huge IT revolution in communication services or yet another disappointment from an unjustified hype? Guess we’ll have to observe and analyze in the meantime
